About us

Our founding father Mr. Anthony P. Behan founded the firm in the early 1950s. Anthony P. Behan & Co. practiced from offices situated at Dame Street in the centre of Dublin City.

In the 1970s Anthony P. Behan & Co. relocated to offices situated at Arran Quay, close to the Four Courts. The firm of Anthony P. Behan & Co. subsequently merged and for a decade, between 1980 and 1990, practiced as Behan Fitzpatrick from offices at Exchange Street . 

In 1990 the firm became Behan & Associates and relocated to offices in Merchant's House, Merchants Quay, (coincidentally the present location of the Office of the Legal Costs Adjudicators). Our then managing partner Paul M. Behan, alongside his partners, AP Behan and Noel Guiden (our managing partner from 2008 to 2021), further developed the business over the subsequent 11 years during which time all our present directors joined the firm including our now managing partner, John Sludds. 


In 2001, Behan & Associates Legal Costs Consultants Limited, a limited liability company was incorporated under the Companies Act and relocated to offices at Blanchardstown Corporate Park, Dublin 15, a modern, purpose built office premises situated in the high technology area of West Dublin. These premises are also the company's Registered Office.

Behan & Associates provide a fully comprehensive Legal Costs Accountancy service.

The firm currently has five directors: John Sludds, Managing Partner, alongside Paul Conlon, Sharon Fagan, Shane Galligan and Aidan O’Connor.

 entities of all natures and indeed individuals.


We pride ourselves on the professional and efficient service we provide to our clients and on our ability to represent our clients in a thoroughly professional manner. The area of legal Costs accountancy is a highly specialised area. All our Legal Costs Accountants

 have been members of the firm for a considerable period of time and all received their training as Legal Costs Accountants with Behan & Associates and as a consequence we are satisfied that all have acquired the requisite skill, knowledge and experience to fully and appropriately represent the interests of our clients. All our Legal Costs Accountants are members or fellows of the Institute of Legal Costs Accountants and most have been, or presently are, members of the Council of the Institute.
